Boats in the Snow #4

Lunenburg, Nova Scotia

Lunenburg is a historic Canadian ship building town situated on a small bay that looks more like a Minnesota lake.

The working waterfront boasts a collection of docks and old warehouses filled with boats wrapped in winter plastic or museums closed for the season. A long, narrow parking lot built for 60-passenger coach buses ties everything together. Across the water, a frozen golf course rises up a hill. Its fairways look like they are coated with white frosting.

Lunenburg is loaded with restored Victorian homes painted in bright colors; white wooden churches and a charming Main Street featuring a mix of galleries, restaurants and gift shops. It’s a turn-of-the-century sea town with a tourist twist. Very pretty.

Of course, I didn’t take any pretty pictures.

Too easy.

Instead I found these boats in the snow.
